Brian Connolly
Brian Connolly, singer of '70s Glam rock band Sweet lived in Hayes.
The Sweet sold in excess of 30 million records. Their hits included 'Ballroom Blitz', 'Fox on the run' ,'Love is Like Oxygen' and the biggest selling single of 1973 'Blockbuster'.
Brian Connolly left the band in 1979 after rumoured excessive drinking. He went on to form his own band.
He died on 9 February 1997, his funeral was held in Denham on February 17th.
