A RUISLIP footpath has been named to honour Hillingdon councillor Jim O'Neill who died in March 2004 after a long battle with cancer.
Jim O'Neill Walk' was officially opened on Wednesday at a ceremony attended by council leader Ray Puddifoot, Hillingdon Mayor Councillor David Routledge and Mr O'Neill's widow, Councillor Shirley Harper-O'Neill.
Jim was councillor in the South Ruislip area for ten years and was cabinet member for the environment at the time of his death.
His footpath is a part of the new Ruislip High School development which opened in September this year to around 150 year 7 students.
The development will open fully in the new year and will include an adult education centre.
