Theatre of discussion: the Model United Nations
STUDENTS from ACS Hillingdon took part in the world’s largest Model United Nations conference in The Hague, Netherlands.
The MUN was set up in 1961 by Paul Sands, from The American School of The Hague, and seeks to engage students in discussion of some of the world’s most important issues.
The Hillingdon party of 20 debated with more than 3,500 other students from 200 schools across the world, with the aim of getting resolutions passed in the same way as the real United Nations.
ACS Hillingdon has been taking groups to the MUN for nearly 10 years. This year’s debates were on disarmament, human rights and economic and social issues.
