A NEW Sainsbury’s Local store is set to open in West Drayton this Wednesday.
The store, located in Garden Village, Porters Way, will be officially opened by children from West Drayton Primary School at 9am.
Everyday items, from groceries to alcohol, will be sold at the five-aisle shop, which will open seven days a week from 7am-11pm.
Robyn Hammond, the new store’s manager, hopes it will become a big part of the community.
As well as creating a notice board for events to be advertised, she is looking into holding twice-monthly in-store surgeries with the community police team.
It’s also hoped that children from West Drayton Primary can use some of the tills to learn about money.
So far, the store has provided jobs for 11 new members of staff, with hopes of further recruitment soon.
