YOUNG people in Hillingdon were given the opportunity to learn basic employment skills at a two-day training event last week.
The course which was designed by Hillingdon Council and Brunel University to smooth the path from education to employment was attended by 14 youngsters, which was designed to help.
The teenagers, aged between 15 and 18, took part in a number of workshops on topics such as CV writing and interview skills.
Cabinet member for education and children's services, Councillor David Simmonds, said; "Providing young people with the skills and opportunities to further their development through education, employment and training is so important for Hillingdon and is part of the council's overall vision to provide a borough where young people are healthy, safe and supported."
Funding for the event, which took place on Friday, August 10 and Saturday, August 11, was provided by the Department for Education and Skills with support from Hillingdon Business Partnership.
