STUDENTS in Hillingdon were celebrating on Thursday, after finding out their A-level results.
Most of the pupils found they had got the grades necessary to get into the university of their choice, but a handful did not do as well as they anticipated.
Hillingdon students took time to praise staff for their help.
Rosanne Watson, a student at Uxbridge College, in Park Road, Uxbridge, received A grades in English literature, government and politics and sociology.
Rosanne, 20, from Malaysia, said she has high ambitions and will be taking a degree in government at the London School of Economics.
She said: "What inspired me to choose this course is my ambition to make a difference in this world and to show the world that as a small town girl from Malaysia, I can make a difference.
"The dedication and comprehensive teaching provided by all my lecturers at the college has been amazing."
Medeeha Ahmed, 18, from Hayes, who also studied at the college, got two As and two Bs.
She said: "I am very happy and all the teachers have been helpful. Without them I would not have achieved these results."
