AFTER the excitement of A-level results many students are turning their thoughts to going to university and one organisation is offering them something to make life a little easier.
The National Union of Students (NUS) is offering its Extra card to students, which it expects will save nearly £100million over the coming academic year, an average saving of £281 per student.
Savings work on student essentials like book shops, internet services and Dominos Pizza and McDonalds, with a card costing students £10 with most of the money going straight back into students unions.
Gemma Tumelty, NUS President said: "The launch of the NUS Extra card was incredibly popular last year, taken up by more than 250,000 students.
"Of these, 80 per cent said they would recommend the card to their friends. This year we aim to further meet student needs with the introduction of extra partners giving students even more discounts than last year."
The card can be bought online www.nusextra.co.uk or at Students' Unions from mid-August.
