CLIMATE Camp activists have left their base near Heathrow Airport and are marching towards Sipson.
At a briefing this morning (Sunday), protesters announced their intention to march into the village and occupy the proposed third runway boundary.
A spokesman said others will "take action against" BAA's headquarters, off Bath Road near Heathrow Airport. He said: "I'm sure people are going to be breaking the law. I whole-heartedly endorse people breaking the law in a non-violent fashion."
At around 11.50am, hundreds of marchers began walking up Sipson Lane chanting: "We don't want no third runway. CO2 means climate change."
Many protesters are carrying large photographs of people they say will be affected by climate change. Most are also carrying copies of a document urging the government tackle the aviation industry's impact on climate change.
More updates will appear throughout the day on this site from our reporters at the scene of the protest.
