PUPILS at schools across the Hillingdon area received their GCSE results today (Thursday).
At Queensmead School, in Queens Walk, South Ruislip, the youngsters were eagerly waiting outside the doors as early as 9am.
Bharti Karadia, 16, of Hollywood Avenue, Harrow, who got six A star grades and five As, was relieved the wait was finally over.
She said: "I am just really happy with my results. I have done so much better than I expected, I just can't believe it."
Bharti will be returning to the sixth form at Queensmead to study A-levels in chemistry, economics and biology.
Another pupil at the school, Zoe Tydeman, 16, of Dean Avenue, South Ruislip, said: "I have done how I expected to do and I am really happy. The wait was well worth it and I can't wait to celebrate with my friends.
At Uxbridge High School, in The Greenway, Uxbridge, students were also celebrating.
Sabrina Mann, 16 of Celan Gardens, Hayes, said she was not expecting the three A star grades she got in geography, English and technology.
She said: "It feels so good to open the envelope and see A stars, I wasn't expecting that at all. I did better than I thought I would do, so I am over the moon."
Peter Lang, the school's headteacher, said: "I would like to congratulate all the pupils the staff who have supported them along the way.
"The school has continued to do better throughout the years and that is only possible through their dedication."
