A HILLINGDON councillor has left his party after 17 years as a Conservative member.
Councillor David Bishop, who represents Northwood Hills, decided on Friday, August 31, he would continue serving his constituency independently.
Elected in 1990, he said he feels his "loyalty to the Conservative party has been stretched to the limit," and that "too much power and authority is centralised and controlled by the executive."
