FOR their next performance, the Hillingdon Philharmonic Orchestra invites people to a concert celebrating music from the countries of the Hapsburg Empire. 

The programme will include Dvořák’s Cello Concerto, for which the orchestra are joined by soloist Indira Grier, winner of numerous international prizes.

The concert will open with Suppé’s Poet and Peasant Overture, while a selection of Dvořák’s Slavonic Dances will take the audience back to Bohemia for the second half, prior to a trip to Hungary for Kodaly’s Háry János Suite.

It will launch the 34th season of the Hillingdon Philharmonic. The group has more than 60 members and has performed at some of London’s most prestigious venues including the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Southwark Cathedral.

The orchestra will be led by Lucy Cumming and conducted by its founder, Peter J Williams.
