STUDENTS at an Uxbridge secondary were challenged with daily activities to boost their mental health during lockdown.
With pupils set to return to school next week, Park Academy teacher Hayley Batten reveals they were kept motivated in home schooling with monthly ‘Action for Happiness’ plans.
During January and February, tasks included creating a list of things for which you are grateful, performing a kind act for somebody else, dancing along to your favourite song, helping with a household job and making a conscious effort to look for ood in others.
Miss Batten, English Co-ordinator and organiser of the lockdown calendar, said: “The aim was to encourage positivity during such a tough time.”
Students were encouraged to share pictures and videos of themselves carrying out the daily tasks for their peers to see.
Staff at the Park View Road school also took part in the challenges and shared videos for students to see.
