FIRE crews tackled a blaze at a house in Mansfield Drive, off Balmoral Drive, Hayes, this morning (8).
Most of the first floor of a semi-detached house was damaged. One man left the building before the brigade arrived and there were no reports of any injuries.
Hillingdon Station Officer Scott Pearsall, who was at the scene, said: "Firefighters were met with flames and smoke coming from the roof and first-floor windows, where the fire had broken through.
“[They] worked hard to bring the blaze under control and did well to stop it spreading further into the roof."
The brigade was called at 9.49 and the fire was under control by 10.21. Four fire engines and around 25 crew from Hillingdon, Southall and Hayes attended.
The cause is under investigation.
