A HOLOCAUST survivor, now living in Northwood, is awarded the British Empire Medal in the Queen’s Birthday Honours, released tonight (11).
Paul Sved, 83, receives his honour for services to Holocaust education and awareness.
He has dedicated much of his later years to sharing his testimony with people from different backgrounds, to promote his tolerance.
Before the pandemic, he enjoyed travelling across the country to schools and community groups.
During lockdown, he quickly got to grips with video platforms and has conducted a number of sessions in this way.
In the last two years alone, he has spoken to almost 1,500 people.
