HILLINGDON Council has permission from the High Court to proceed with a judicial review of the Mayor of London’s decision to grant planning permission for the former Master Brewer site.
This means the High Court is satisfied the council has an arguable case.
Hillingdon originally refused the application from Inland Homes in March 2020 over concerns about the inappropriate scale of the development at Hillingdon Circus.
The scheme includes buildings up to 12 storeys high, and the council is concerned at its impact on the surrounding area.
However, Sadiq Khan exercised his right to call in the application and determine it himself.
During a virtual hearing in September, he conditionally approved the plans, pending legal agreements. He gave final approval on March 29 this year.
Hillingdon also argues that full and proper consideration was not given to air quality at the site, which is next to the A40.
The judicial hearing of is expected to take place later this year.
