A HILLINGDON councillor is shortlisted in the Community Champion category for the Councillor Awards, run by the Local Government Information Unit.
Scott Farley, who represents Botwell ward in Hayes, was nominated by Hillingdon Labour leader Peter Curling.
Cllr Curling said his colleague had put forward such a compelling case for a path to connect a children's playground to a dropped kerb, to make it accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs, that funding was provided by the Conservative-led council.
"Scott has also played Father Christmas at the Victims and Survivors of Domestic Violence Christmas Party,” he added.
"He is incredibly modest about his achievements and considers it a real honour to be able to serve the residents of his home town."
The winners will be announced on Wednesday, December 1.
