THE first baby delivered on Christmas Day at Hillingdon Hospital was a boy to mother Kulwinder Kaur and father Sukhdev Singh.
The child, yet to be named, was born at 1.48am and weighed 5lb 8oz, delivered by senior midwife Karen Moses. He is a brother to sister Ekampreet, aged eight.
As is traditional, a bag of gifts will be given to the family and to the first-born on New Year's Day at Hillingdon.
Lynn Kennedy, Labour Ward co-ordinator, who was on duty for Christmas Eve and Christmas morning, said: “New babies bring such joy, especially at Christmasm, and even more so when our country is going through such uncertain times.
“It’s always a moment we enjoy when we welcome the first child born at our hospital.”
