A FAMILY-friendly restaurant, bar and café is planned for Uxbridge following the letting of a town centre space to Loungers, operator of the Lounge and Cosy Club venues.
Loungers will transform the ground floor of 2 Vine Street, known as Union, into a retro-inspired “cosy retreat”, to be called The Morello Lounge.
It comes after property investor and developer Kingsbridge Estates, which owns the building, agreed a 15-year lease for the unit, which fronts the High Street.
The restaurant will be fin the signature style of the Lounge chain, with artwork and quirky curios alongside oversized vintage sofas, old school benches and painted table tops.
Sophia Stancer, of the community team at Loungers, said: “Our teams are encouraged to work with groups, charities, organisations and businesses that are at the heart of the fabric of local life.
“A community noticeboard is available for those wanting to publicise events, and a book-swap area will be kept well-stocked.”
The deal comes in the wake of Kingsbridge Estates letting the second floor of 2 Vine Street to Gold Care Homes, for its office and support teams.
