FIFTEEN fire engines and around 100 crew tackled a blaze at a factory in Rigby Lane, Hayes, last night (1).
A factory containing around 400 tons of waste recycling was alight. There were no immediate reports of any injuries.
Station Commander Dean Wilkinson, who was at the scene, said two turntable ladders were used as towers, to get water on to the building.
"Around 10 gas cylinders were removed as a precaution as some cylinders can explode when exposed to heat," he added.
The brigade was called at 11.41 and the fire was under control by 3.15 this morning. Crews from Hillingdon, Heathrow, Feltham, Hayes and Heston attended.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
