A SURVEY to measure the probable impact on residents and businesses of expanding the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) has been launched by Hillingdon Council.
As part of a coalition of councils challenging the Mayor of London’s plans to expand the scheme to outer London, Hillingdon has already launched a Judicial Review.
Under the proposals, drivers of non-compliant vehicles would be charged at least £12.50 for each day they make journeys within the zone, which would encompass the entire borough.
Hillingdon is seeking to gain a picture of the impact it will have in the borough.
It is also keen to discover how many car owners will be making use of TfL’s scrappage scheme for older non-compliant vehicles.
The survey includes links for people to check if their vehicle is ULEZ compliant.
Cllr Douglas Mills, Cabinet Member for Corporate Services, said: “The proposed ULEZ expansion stands to affect people right across the borough, from those who need their car to commute, to do the school run or to visit loved ones, to traders who rely on a vehicle for their business.
“We’re urging residents to take part in our anonymous survey and share their situation.”
The survey will run until Sunday, April16. Visit www.hillingdon.gov.uk/ulez-survey
