STAFF and students at UTC Heathrow are celebrating good news after receiving excellent marks following its Ofsted inspection.
The Northwood-based school and sixth form has been awarded a Good rating in all areas following an inspection last month.
In its previous inspection in 2017, trading under its former name Heathrow Aviation Engineering UTC, it was given a Requires Improvement rating.
Activate Learning Education Trust took over the school in 2018, rebranding it UTC Heathrow and making sweeping changes.
Inspectors were especially impressed with the careers focus and good relationships throughout the school.
Wayne Edwards, executive principal, said: “The education and experiences students get here is fantastic and the destinations they go to is second to none.”
The Ofsted grading comes after the school won Best Talent Developer at the Data Centre World awards, for its Digital Futures programme.
It’s a unique curriculum aimed at giving students the best start to a career in the digital infrastructure industry.
