YEAR 11 students at UTC Heathrow, based at Northwood, are celebrating after receiving their Level 2 Technical Qualifications and GCSEs.
The STEM-focused University Technical College (UTC), specialising in Engineering and Digital, offers a strong technical education alongside GCSEs in a workplace-style environment.
Staff and students at the school celebrated an overall pass rate of:
- 100% of students achieved a pass grade in Level 2 Engineering and Triple Science
- 73% achieved GCSE Maths at grade 4 and above
- 72% achieved GCSE Double Science at grade 44 and above
- 43% achieved Level 2 Basics at Grade 5 and above
Notable results:
- Jayon Fox achieved a grade 8 in both Chemistry and Physics GCSEs and an average Attainment 8 score of 6.9
- Ahmed Abdullahi achieved a grade 9 in GCSE Mathematics and an average Attainment 8 score of 6.3
Head of School Jas Kallah said: “I am particularly pleased with the Maths, Science and Engineering grades this summer.”
Year 11 have also worked with numerous employer partners, such as CNet Training, Amazon Web Services and Royal Navy.
Students at UTC Heathrow study English, Maths and Science as core subjects and then specialise in either engineering or digital.
