THE highest accolade of Grand Prix winner was awarded to Hillingdon Council’s counter-fraud team at the Public Finance Awards in London.
Hillingdon took home two trophies: the Outstanding Fraud Prevention, Detection and Recovery award, and the biggest award of the night, given to best in class across all the shortlisted entries, the Grand Prix.
Judges noted the team’s success in saving £12.3m during 2022/23 in areas like tenancy fraud and fraud in homelessness.
