A COMMUNITY adviser and advocate for transparent government is to stand as an independent candidate in next year’s London mayoral elections.
Shyam Batra, born and bred in Uxbridge, says he has no political affiliations and aims to bring the best out of all parties.
Mr Batra's platform includes abolishing the ULEZ tax, which he says has burdened Londoners with unnecessary financial strain.
He says: "It's time to put money back into the pockets of hard-working Londoners. The ULEZ tax has only added to the financial struggles of our citizens and that has to change."
Another ambition is to eliminate knife crime, rapes and murders, by working closely with law enforcement and community groups.
Mr Batra added: "We cannot continue to let our citizens live in fear. It's time for real hard action to be taken to address these heinous crimes."
His platform also includes an emphasis on affordable housing for all Londoners.
He said: "I am committed to implementing policies that will provide affordable housing options for everyone, regardless of their income or background."
Mr Batra, who also went to school in Uxbridge, says he is committed to fostering sustainable development, enriched tourism, improving public transport and investing in innovative technology that will create job opportunities.
