A HAYES man appeared before magistrates on Saturday (9) charged with the murder of another man in the town.
Detectives charged 18-year Jimmy McDonagh, of Dawley Avenue, with the murder of John Cavanagh after arresting him in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.
He appeared in court at Uxbridge, where he was remanded in custody until his next hearing at the Old Bailey tomorrow (12).
Police and ambulance staff had originally responded to reports of an assault in Dawley Avenue last week.
Victim John Cavanagh, 44, who was from the area, was taken to hospital, where he later died.
A post-mortem confirmed the cause of death was a head injury.
