THE Woodman pub in Ruislip has raised more than £3,100 for two charities through a fire walk and a music bingo night.

 

Staff hosted the bingo night to raise funds for Molly Oxenham, a colleague, who is running a marathon to raise money for the Asthma and Lung Association.

More than 100 customers played bingo with a twist, with the money raised going directly towards Molly’s fund-raiser.

Bingo prizes of alcohol, jewellery and more games were donated and the evening brought in more than £400.

Publican Steve Banks plans to run another two this year to continue the fund-raising success.

Woodman Ruislip and Woodman Pinner staff also joined forces to take part in a fire walk, where 10 team members and six customers walked over hot coals in aid of the Michael Sobell Hospice at Northwood.

They raised an impressive £2,700 through sponsorship, as well as from a raffle with prizes including an air fryer and a hamper.

In total, the two Woodman pubs have raised more than £6,500 for Michael Sobell in the last three months.

Woodman staff have no plans to slow down and have organised an Après Ski day on April 27, when the garden at Ruislip will be transformed into a winter wonderland complete with fake snow.

Guests can purchase shots, including moonshine, with the money raised going to dementia sufferers.

Also, staff and customers are planning a parachute jump, with all funds raised going to Michael Sobell.
