QPR boss Marti Cifuentes couldn't fault the desire of his players and backed them to bounce back following a 3-1 defeat against Hull at Loftus Road.

Cody Drameh and Chris Bedia scored in an 11-minute span midway through the first half to give Hull a cushion.

Nicolas Madsen’s penalty just before half time gave the hosts hope but Liam Millar’s 71st-minute goal ensured Rangers remain winless at home this season.

Cifuentes said: "We were very dominant and created a lot of chances, but football is about quality and about scoring goals, and they were better than us, so nothing to complain about.

“Football is about achieving and the reality is that we didn't score more goals than them.

"The guys did well to keep pushing, even after the third goal, and I have nothing to complain about in terms of the desire of the guys.

“I'm sure we're going to bounce back.”

Cifuentes' side started brightly, with a flurry of early efforts kept out by visiting goalkeeper Ivor Pandur before Drameh opened the scoring againts the run of play.

Bedia doubled the lead before Madsen smashed in his spot-kick off the underside of the bar, with Koki Saito hitting the woodwork as the home side sought an equaliser.
But Millar's strike sealed the outcome in Hull's favour, leaving Sam Field to reflect on a home defeat.

Field said: “The first 20 minutes, we were right at it. We were very, very good.

“We had the chances. It’s probably the best we’ve played all season.

“We’ve got to defend collectively better as well. Credit to Hull, they took the chances.

“We cause a lot of teams problems, we did it towards the end of last season. That was a really good spark.

“We’ve got to take it into Derby, that’ll be a difficult game. There’s no easy games in this league.

“If we keep playing like that, I’m confident we’ll be good.”
