PEOPLE are to be consulted on plans to transform the currently-neglected Hayes Bridge Retail Park and Heathrow Interchange sites into a data centre hub.

Three new data centre buildings will directly support businesses in the area and contribute to the broader UK economy.

The proposals also include a new Innovation Hub on the Uxbridge Road. This will provide education and community opportunities for future generations of data scientists.

Matthew Grant, Development Director for Colt Data Centre Services, which is launching the consultation, said: “In an increasingly online world, reliable digital infrastructure is essential to guarantee future economic growth.

“This project will more than double Colt’s current investment in the borough of Hillingdon.

“Hayes Digital Park will create a significant number of jobs for residents, through the 10-year construction programme, as well as permanent roles in fields such as advanced engineering, technology, operations, and security once it is in operation.

“We are working with Uxbridge College on several apprenticeship positions, which will be delivered throughout our building programme.”

A public drop-in event is taking place on Wednesday (23) from 4-8pm at Hayes & Yeading United FC, The SkyEx Community Stadium. There is no need to book.
