A SOLO exhibition by Hillingdon resident Christine Rodrigues, who studied at the Ealing School of Art, will be staged at Stockley Park this month.
Christine is a mixed-media artist whose work intersects the natural world, personal faith and the delicate relationships we have with both.
She invites visitors to the Glass Pencil Art Gallery to go on an evocative journey through the elements of Earth, Air, Fire, and Water.
Born in a rustic farmer’s cottage in Gloucestershire, her early life was rooted in the simplicity and beauty of nature.
“Being called an artist wasn’t really a career choice — it’s who I’ve always been,” she said.
Her passion for art led her to study at Ealing and Chelsea schools of art, where she honed her skills in fine art and sculpture.
“I want people to enjoy what they see — be intrigued by the colours and shapes — but also to think about the deeper meanings,” she added.
Christine has exhibited her work locally and internationally, including solo shows in New Zealand.
This is her seventh solo exhibition and her first at the Glass Pencil Art Gallery.
Her time spent at Stockley Park has been transformative.
"Having my own studio space here, surrounded by a supportive community of artists, has been both brilliant and baffling, in the best way possible,” she said.
“It’s been an unexpected but rewarding chapter at this stage of my life.”
