PLANS are advanced to turn the Rainbow and Kirby industrial estate in Yiewsley into a 400-homes development.
The estate is a brownfield site located between the Grand Union Canal and the High Street.
Its current industrial use generates noise and dust, causing disturbance to neighbouring residents.
As well as the new homes, with 35% of them designated as affordable, the Cavendish & Gloucester plans include working space on the High Street as well as canalside improvements.
A variety of green space and landscaping will be added throughout the estate, including a green link between the High Street and the Grand Union.
A new public open space will be created, including a canalside square and lawn.
Either side of the square, there will be allowance for a café or bar.
More details on what is proposed (and where people can leave feedback) can be found at rainbow-estate.com
The developers are hosting a consultation for residents, where people can learn more about the plans and speak with the project team.
People can call in on Thursday, December 5, any time between 3.30 and 7.30pm at St Matthew’s Church Vicarage, 93 High Street, West Drayton.
