PEOPLE and businesses are being invited to share their views on Hillingdon Council’s draft Uxbridge Vision.
It sets out plans to revitalise the town centre, to help address the changing needs of the area.
It outlines a range of short- and long-term projects, plans to attract private sector investment, to diversify shopping and leisure and guide future developments.
The vision has four key themes:
- public realm – creating new spaces to encourage visitors and support businesses
- new activities – pop-up shops, collaborative workspace and exhibitions that bring new organisations to the town centre
- better links – improving connections to surrounding areas
- more town centre living – opportunities to live in the centre, in a mix of high-quality housing options.
Cllr Steve Tuckwell, Cabinet Member for Planning, Housing and Growth, said: “We want to make Uxbridge an even better place to live, work, study and do business and tp ensure it continues to succeed long into the future.
“We’ve already seen a recent influx of new businesses to the high street and the vision aims to continue this and further help our local economy to thrive.
“The draft Uxbridge Town Centre Vision has been developed with the community and businesses to address their issues and needs of local people.
“I encourage residents and businesses to tell us what they think. The feedback will inform our approach to improvements and applications for funding.”
The consultation is open until Friday, February 28.
