CHISWICK is rapidly become one of the most desirable places to live in West London, according to Chris Tapp at the local branch of Hamptons International.
He reports: "The area's popularity is largely due to the ongoing increase in the number of stylish boutiques, trendy bars and restaurants.
"Even though rents are slowly increasing, there are a lot of available properties due to the slight fall in interest rates making the buy to let market still a financially viable option."
Tenants can still get a good deal in this area of London, says the agent, because of the fierce competition between landlords.
If they charge too much, they risk being left with empty properties.
He explains: "Chiswick attracts two typical types of clientele: young working professionals and families. The young professionals will be looking to rent modern contemporary properties while the Edwardian and Georgian houses with their original features and spacious rooms are havens for families.
"Chiswick doesn't tend to get the in-betweeners who have sold their homes and are renting while they wait for a drop in prices because there isn't going to be a drop in prices around here," says Chris Tapp. "There is an over supply of buyers and not the number of properties to match it."
