MEDIA students from Uxbridge College hit our television screens on Channel Five’s morning show The Wright Stuff.
The groups of BTEC National Diploma students, who visited the studios in London’s Bayswater, took part in the programme’s discussions which included assisted reproduction, spending cuts, hair fashions, and pre-nuptial agreements.
Matthew Wright’s discussion panel included former member of Pussycat Dolls pop group Kimberly Wyatt, actor Nigel Havers, presenter Terry Christian, journalist and author Yasmin Alibhai-Brown, and ex-Hollyoaks and Eastenders actress Gemma Bissix.
The trip included a tour of the studio gallery, and talks from Matthew Wright, the show’s cameraman and the live studio director.
Coral James O’Connor, industry professional and media lecturer at Uxbridge College, said: “This trip has really inspired the students – they’ve learned so much about how live television works. These kind of activities encourage students to believe they can make it all the way in the industry and Uxbridge College has all the resources to help them reach their goals.”
