WITH October half-term fast approaching and the summer holidays barely out of sight, cash-strapped families in Hillingdon will be wondering how they are going to keep the kids entertained during the school holidays.
To help inspire, money saving site Voucherbox has collated the top three things for a family of four to do for under £35 in and around Hillingdon.
Water babies
Boasting 50 metres of clear blue water, Hillingdon Sports and Leisure Complex is the perfect place for a splash around with the kids.
The grade II listed outdoor pool reopened in 2010 and is the perfect place to indulge in all the health benefits of outdoor swimming. There are waterfalls at both ends, which make you feel like you’re stepping into a holiday scene from years ago, and a heated splash pool for the little ones.
Average entrance cost for a family of four: £9 before 4pm
Jumping for joy
Get your kids to burn off some energy by paying a visit to Jump Giants West London which is a 20-minute drive away at Poyle but well worth the journey!
Once you arrive your kids can jump and tumble their way across 30,000 sq ft of this trampoline park.
Make sure you book into one of the Open Jump sessions, allowing you to make use of the entire park, including the exciting Battle Beams, where you and your little ones can fight to be the last one standing, or shoot some hoops on the basketball Slam Dunk lanes.
Average entrance cost for a family of four: £8.50
Snaking around
Take a trip to Brentford and allow your children to enjoy Snakes and Ladders Play Centre which offers an array of indoor adventure play for all ages.
Older children will enjoy exploring the huge three-tier play frame with slides, climbs, a mini sports pitch and balls. There is also an imagination play area, complete with a hospital, post office, shop, home corner, London bus, and even a construction zone.
Plus, there are electric bikes to race on! Under-5s have their own area packed with soft play, swings, ride-ons and more.
Average entrance cost for a family of four: £17.30 based on two children aged five-plus and two adults off peak
Movie madness
If half-term brings us one of those wet and windy days, then why not treat the kids to a trip to the cinema? Uxbridge Odeon shows all the latest blockbusters in 2D or 3D and host kids’ screenings during the holidays. There are discounted tickets for the little ones and family friendly films.
Average entrance cost for a family of four: £32
