Former BBC Radio 1 presenter Jordan North is set to become the new host of Capital Breakfast.
The I’m A Celebrity runner-up’s BBC departure was announced on X, formerly Twitter, on Friday, February 16, as Radio 1 shared: “Radio 1 will be saying goodbye to Jordan North.
“Jordan has been behind some of the most hilarious and entertaining moments on air over the years and has been a constant source of inspiration for younger presenters. Thank you for everything."
Following North’s news, the BBC announced that Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing would be taking over the presenting role alongside current and former co-host of North, Vick Hope.

Now, Global, owners of Capital Radio have confirmed that Jordon North will become the new host of the primetime Breakfast Show.

On Monday, February 19, radio, and TV presenter Roman Kemp announced he would be stepping down from his role on the Capital show.
Kemp has hosted the Capital Breakfast show for 10 years and told listeners his final show will be Thursday, March 28 and he said “It’s not a decision that has come overnight either”.
Across social media there had been speculation that North could be taking over the role from Kemp and it has now been confirmed.

Sharing the news, North said: "I am beyond excited to be joining Global and to wake up the nation every morning on Capital - I can't wait to start working with the amazing team here and get stuck in, to create the most fun and entertaining breakfast show. Getting to host Capital Breakfast has always been a dream of mine and it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity that I simply couldn’t turn down.”

North had previously shared a statement regarding his BBC Radio 1 exit, sharing on Instagram that he wanted to thank those who had reached out to share their support.
Writing: “MOST IMPORTANTLY the biggest of thank yous to the fantastic listeners who have been really generous and always made me feel welcome, your kind words & messages have been so lovely, THANK YOU SO MUCH.
“I’ll be back soon, and can’t wait to see you all again.”
North will start hosting Captial Breakfast in April alongside Chris Stark and Sian Welby.
