When is the 2024 Amazon Prime Day sale?

Amazon Prime Day 2024 or Prime Big Deals Day is taking place between Tuesday, October 8 and Wednesday, October 9.

The event is exclusively for Prime members, meaning only those who are subscribed to the delivery service can make the most of the big sale.

Prime Day started all the way back in 2015 as a way to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the company.

The 24-hour event was held in nine countries, including the United States, Japan and, of course, the United Kingdom.

When is Black Friday 2024?

Black Friday 2024 is taking place on Friday, November 29 with some stores having deals for the whole weekend.

The event can trace its roots back to the United States where it traditionally marked the beginning of the Christmas shopping season.

The term Black Friday was coined in the 1960s when police officers in Philadelphia began using it as a phrase to describe the chaos caused by those coming into the city to snag the best deals.

It has often been claimed that the term comes from the business phrase "in the black" which is said to mean that a firm is making a profit but this origin story is untrue.
