HAYES and Yeading United boss Gary Haylock insists it is only a matter of time before the newly-merged club hit the winning trail.

They are still winless in the Blue Square South League following Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Bromley.

But Haylock insists there is nothing to panic about.

He told the Times: "I'm not worried. Results-wise it's not been what we wanted but performance-wise it has.

"I don't think there is any need to worry. When you are playing as well as we are results will inevitably follow."

But he says his side need to iron out the individual errors which are costing them vital points and have left them at the wrong end of the table He said: "The problems we have got have got nothing to do with the fact that the two clubs have just merged, that's just an easy excuse.

"It has got nothing to do with the merger, our problems are down to people making mistakes."

Luck has also been against them.

Striker Josh Scott passed a fitness test on his injured hamstring before last week's Bromley game only to tweak it again during the match.

He will now miss Saturday's home game against Basingstoke Town.

And United's luck was against them in another way last week.

They felt they should have had a penalty in the last ten minutes of the match but the referee failed to spot the handball offence.

Earlier Simon Martin had put United back on level terms cancelling out Nic McDonnell's goal for the home side.

But Bromley got their noses back in front with 20 minutes of the encounter remaining when substitute Gareth McCleary scored within five minutes of coming onto the field of play.
