A YOUNG Hillingdon Borough side, led by captain and goalkeeper Zak Green, had a busy September, winning one of their four games.
The month started at home to Oxhey Jets in the Combined Counties League. Boro conceded two early goals before striker Makael Scott pulled one back, but a late goal sealed the win for the Jets.
Boro then welcomed higher-division Bedfont Sports to the Middlesex Stadium for an FA Vase tie and fell to a 5-0 defeat.
They returned to the league cup at the end of September, welcoming FC Deportivo Galicia for a midweek game under the lights. Boro scored three second-half goals, with a double from Amir El-Harrak and one by Romario Martin to progress to the next round.
The last fixture of the month was also at home as Boro welcomed Westside, from South London.
It was two goals in five second-half minutes that won the game for Westside. Boro scored through Makael Scott and Wagih Eldakhakhny but were unable to rescue the game.
Makael was sent off late in the game for a second yellow.
There is only one schedule home game in October, on the 14th at 3 pm, as Boro welcome Eversley and California. Admission is £7 for adults, £3 concessions and is cash only on the turnstile.
This season, the club is running two U18 sides as it pivots towards youth development, with one team in the Allied Counties Youth League and another in the Southern Combination League.
The Allied Counties side is at home to Harefield United on Monday, October 16, 7.30pm.
