London won a close game at Brunel on Saturday afternoon thanks to a great last quarter display from Polish import player Jacek Jagodka.

The game was in the balance throughout with Worcester threatening to pull away on a number of occasions, as they took a half time lead of 7 points at 38-45. Most of the damage being done by Robinson's shooting and Shaw's inside presence. Wolves rebounded the ball very well at both ends of the floor against London's big line up.

It was the second half that saw London slowly pull the game back as Pete Deppisch nailed 4 sucessive three's to bring the game back to a 2 point gap, and with Van Elswyk coming off the bench he managed to plug the gaps in the London defence with some great defensive rebounding, putting the stops on Ty Shaw.

With the teams only 2 points apart at the beginning of the last quarter it was Jagodka who started the battle cry with a dunk after stealing the ball and then hitting a three from the corner. United stepped up their game as the zone defence worked to force turnover's, and Jagodka raced up court against 3 defenders. He went hard to the basket and made a great lay-up which dropped against all odds.

Then on the next defensive play he took a charging foul which enabled London to go up on the next play of the game 78-76 through 2 foul shots from Deppisch.

Ty Shaw levelled with 2 free throws with 55 seconds to go.

London then executed their offence well finally going inside to Peter Van Elswyk who finished well.

Worcester now 2 down missed their shot and London moved the ball with 30 seconds remaining finding Jagodka open on the wing to nail a big three pointer to finish the game off with a 5 point victory 83-78.

Worcester battled hard and played with heart and will upset teams. This being their first season in the top flight of English basketball.
