London United had a losing start to a double header weekend against Worthing Thunder at Osterley on Saturday.
Worthing currently sitting top of EBL Div One were 5 point victors against an injury hit United squad with both Damian Reid and Jacek Jagodka out.
The game went down to the wire as United were only 1 point down with less than a minute to go.
It was Worthing's American guard Alfredo Ott that made an important lay-up for the visitors to give them the winning margin at 78-83.
Top scorers for United were Ataha 21 and Deppisch 19.
On Sunday United lost out on the road to Coventry Crusaders by 92-84 travelling with only six senior players due to injuries.
United trailed throughout the game and struggled to keep up with Coventry who were able to rotate their team and stay fresh.
United now need one win to qualify for the 8 team playoff knockout tournament commencing in April.
United have another double header next weekend with both games at home. On Saturday United face Kings Lynn Fury at 6pm at Osterley and on Sunday Reading Rockets at 4pm also at Osterley. Tickets are available on the door.
